  Summary: Learn the basics of word processing in Word for Windows including how to create memos, letters and multiple page documents.

Prerequisites: Completion of Introduction to Windows, or a good understanding of the Windows operating environment.

  Summary: Once the basics are mastered, this course expands on the fundamentals of Word for Windows.

Prerequisites: Introduction to Microsoft Word for Windows or equivalent understanding of Word for Windows' basic functions.

Class length: 1 day.

  • Customize the Word for Windows workplace.
  • Understand advanced formatting of tables.
  • Perform calculations in tables and create graphs from tables.
  • Create and modify AutoText entries.
  • Change the appearance of paragraphs using styles.
  • Create, use and change defaults in the Normal template.
  • Merge a document with data to create multiple variations of the document.
  • Locate and manage documents.
  • Create, run and change macros.
  • Format text in columns with graphics.
  • Use Mail Merge for mailing labels and envelopes.

 

Advanced Microsoft Word for Windows

  Summary: Learn advanced skills for working in Word for Windows.

Prerequisites: Introduction to Word for Windows, Intermediate Word for Windows, or equivalent knowledge.

  • Create, modify, and replace styles.
  • Use Word’s Organizer to manage styles.
  • Create and customize templates.
  • Create macros.

  • Insert and modify clip art graphics.
